RAM (Random Access Memory): RAM is a temporary storage e.g When you have a word document open the RAM temporarily saves the writing on screen However it is gone forever if you turn of your pc ROM (Read Only Memory): ROM is memory containing hardwired instructions the computer uses before the system software loads the instructions are read from a small program in the ROM called the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System). CPU (Central Processing Unit): it is the main part of your computer it runs the operating system all applications and is constantly receiving input from the active software and creating output which can be stored on the software or on screen Hard Drive: A hard drive is your permanent storage on a computer Touch pad : a computer input device in the form of a small panel containing different touch-sensitive areas.
